CompTIA CySA+ CS0-003 is coming out in June 2023 and just like CS0-002, it is maximum of 85 questions, 165 minutes, and requires 750 on a 100 to 900 scale. The exam is combination of multiple choice and performance based questions and requires proficiency in incident detect, prevent, and response actions. If you have experience in data analysis, this exam should be a breeze. Just like other CompTIA exams, it costs $392 dollars to take and requires continuing education and fees to maintain. Exam focuses on four main areas, which are security operations, vulnerability management, incident response and management, and reporting and communication.
With this certification, you will be able to find jobs like application security analyst, threat intelligence analyst, vulnerability manager, security ops center analyst, security architect, and cybersecurity engineer. Compared to Security+, CySA+ is more hands-on and focuses on using datasets and using analytics for cybersecurity. Security+ leans more towards testing baseline of general cybersecurity knowledge and skills while CySA+ leans more towards testing proficiency in analysis skills. This certification is also a intermediate-level certification, which will be better suited to help land a job related to this certification.
