Meta spark is an AR tool meant for Facebook, Messenger and Instagram. As soon as you open the software, you have the option on the left bar to create new projects. Move from top down on the left bar, we have create new, learn how to use meta spark, open recent projects, and open a file of a project that you or others have made that you have stored on your computer. We also have what’s new button at the bottom which will take you to changelog website that lists change lines from newest on top. For example, it’ll have a date of the change and list what the change brings “Added AudioGraphModule JaveScript API, which enables the creation and manipulation of sound effects graphs”. The create community button will take you to meta spark community facebook page. This is where you can share work and collaborate with others.

When you click create new, you have the option to create a blank project from scratch, share effects or promote, create a video calling effect which is in beta mode, and create a template at the bottom which allows you to make minor adjustments to what others have already created as a baseline.
When you click learn, it’ll have both a video and article tutorial. These tutorials are broken down by skill levels, so even a beginner can take off running. These tutorial videos are made by employees at meta and I personally think they are high quality. After completing the lessons and creating several products you can showcase in your portfolio, you can also take the Meta Certified Meta Spark Creator Exam for the certification. There’s no guarantee for jobs nor do I personally believe it’ll help land a job with the certificate, but it’s neat to have one on your resume. Additionally, you don’t get paid when people use your filters after posting it on the internet. You can however, charge a fee to make a custom filter for a client.
