Single pane of glass is a term used to refer to a device management tool that integrates information from multiple different platforms. It simply aggregates the information and consolidates them into a single display. It provides leadership a big picture oversight with the capability to dig into individual items. Single pane of glass should be able to monitor everything within organization’s network and should be able to allow users to analyze and interpret the data and turn it into an actionable insights. Lastly, it should have flexible dashboard and also allows for visual report generation.
The bigger the organization’s network, harder it is to maintain single pane of glass. This gets even more daunting if you work in an organization that is constantly changing. However, if done right, it can save time and provide holistic data to increase efficiency.
