Lemon8 to replace TikTok

Bytedance is a chinese company that owns tiktok, PICO, baike.com, mobile legends, and now lemon8. TikTok has been getting banned from one state to another and has been getting heat from congress due to national security concerns. There are too many security concerns for users to consider and the content itself is not really good for younger generations due to weak filtering system in place. Now, social media influencers are hopping from TikTok to lemon8, which is pretty much the same app when it comes to design and functionalities without knowing its parent company is the same one that made TikTok.

Lemon8 is pretty much a replica of TikTok and it has been getting advertised heavily on TikTok itself. The app has been downloaded over one million times in the US alone, since it became available on the app stores in February 1 according to apptopia. The issue is that the biggest concern still remains, the fact that Bytedance is the owner and they’re a Chinese company without proper regulatory system in place. Multiple countries have already banned TikTok and same regulations are going to apply for its sister app lemon8 unless things change.
